This course introduces the student to the components of the nursing process in identifying the basic needs of the adult client. Assessment skills are emphasized in identifying internal and external stressors and adaptive responses that adult clients experience in the maintenance or promotion of health. Health care environments include community senior citizen centers, skilled nursing facilities, and hospital settings. Prerequisites: Admission to the nursing program; eligibility for college-level courses.
