This course builds on the paramedic's previous clinical experiences of skills utilized during the pre- hospitalization encounter with clients with stronger emphasis on the appplication of the nursing process in promoting the adult client's adaptation towards the promotion and maintenance of helath in response to internal and external stressors. In addition to existing acute care skills, the student will expand and acquire new knowledge and skills to meet the adult client's basic needs in varied health care enrovonments (such as community senior citizen centers, skilled nursing facilities, and hospital settings).
