This is a half semester course that emphasizes the use of the nursing process to assist the child and family to meet basic needs in various health care environments. Students learn adaptive behaviors used by the family and the child in reaction to the internal and external stressors of hospitalization. Principles of teaching/learning are used to aid in promoting health for the infant, child and adolescent. A comparative study of the healthy child is provided through observational experiences in community agencies. Prerequisites: BIOL 2020, PSYC 1010, NURS 1213, NURS 1226, NURS 1613, NURS 1626.
