This course provides the clinical emphasis of the theory course on assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating strategies to promote, maintain and restore optimum health for diverse clients and experiencing alterations in life functions. The alterations in life functions include fluid/gas transport, activity/mobility, nutrition/ metabolism, and elimination. Students apply a clinical decision making process in caring for the client in a variety of acute care, ambulatory, and community based settings. Management principles and therapeutic communication are incorporated into the plan of care for clients experiencing alterations in life functions.
