This course focuses on the adaptation of the child to physical and developmental changes from infancy to adolescence. The nursing process is utilized in determining care needs for the ill child and family with stressors associated with common health problems in a health care environment. A comparative study of the healthy child puts emphasis on principles of health promotion and physical and psychological adaptive mechanisms necessary to meet basic needs and maintain health. This is a half-semester course. Prerequisites: BIOL 2020, PSYC 1010, NURS 1213, NURS 1226, NURS 1613, NURS 1626.
