Do you know the laws concerning the owning, transporting, or discharging of a handgun Do you know how to handle a handgun safely These subjects will be covered in an eight-hour firearms safety workshop that will take you through the legal rights of handgun ownership, as well as teach you the safe and proper usage of a handgun. Students are encouraged to bring their own unloaded small caliber pistols to the firing range on Saturday. Students must provide their own ammunition. A small number of .38 caliber pistols are available for student use. The course will be divided between a one-night, four-hour classroom lecture/discussion and a Saturday morning on the firing range for a four-hour session. Note: This course satisfies the state of Tennessee training requirements for a Tennessee resident to apply for a permit to carry a firearm. Tennessee Residents must show proof of citizenship or legal residency.
