This course focuses on preparing the student to meet the standards established by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This course meets the ground training requirements of 14 CFR 141 Appendix B. One's competence relative to these standards must be demonstrated initially in the successful completion of the FAA's Private Pilot written examination. Topics include aircraft aerodynamic systems, National Airspace System, Federal Aviation Regulations, aircraft performance related to weights and balances, aeromedical factors, aviation weather and services petrtaining thereto, navigation, and cross-country flight planning. Prerequisite(s): H.S.
