This is the last course in Southwest s Medical Transcription Program. It covers hospital dictation such as operative reports, diagnostic procedures,discharge summaries, radiology, and pathology dictation. Students work independently at home and during assisted labs. It takes approximately 400 hours to complete the transcription and all the recommended course work. Students who complete the required coursework and should be prepared to begin their career as a Medical Transcriptionist in a variety of settings (medical clinics, doctor s offices, hospitals, private transcription businesses and home offices). Students will need to have access to a computer and will need to purchase any required materials and software.
