With the proper training trichologists can earn six figures a year. The Introduction to Trichology program is open to professionals and students in both the medical and cosmetology fields. Trichology is the science of the structure, function and diseases of the human hair and its connection to the scalp. There are thousands of women, men and even children suffering from hair loss and other hair and scalp related disorders and the numbers are growing. However, there is shortage of qualified trichologists locally and nationally. To obtain a successful career as a trichologist requires professionals who are trained to diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the human hair as well as related scalp disorders. The practice of trichology as a paramedical discipline (but exclusively of the hair and scalp) requires a high level of education in the specialty. Upon completion of the course, students will be trained to diagnose external follicle hair loss on a scalp level, hair breakage, strand thinning as well as related scalp disorders. Prerequisite: (1) Be a licensed cosmetologist or barber, or student in the senior level of the required course or (2) be in the medical or science field with a level degree or senior level in that course. 4.000 Continuing Education Units 40.000 Lecture hours Levels: Continuing Education Schedule Types: Lecture Continuing Education College Continuing Education Department Course Attributes: CEU Career Development, Supplemental Course
