The Small Business Success Series is designed to assist owners and entrepreneurs with the management and decision-making processes needed to build and grow their businesses. The seminars offer practical applications that students can apply to run successful business operations. Session 1 Strategic Planning for Small Businesses This session is designed to give the student a strategic perspective of his or her business enterprise. Students will analyze and evaluate their company's goals, resources, organizational structure, and external environment to develop appropriate strategies and recommendations for successful business operations. Session 2 Financial Tools: How to Create and Use the Numbers How strong are your financial skills Do you know how to generate and analyze your financial statements This session is designed to help students better understand financial statements, budgets, and financial projections and use this information to make the business run more effectively. The process for choosing the right accounting software will also be discussed. Session 3 Marketing Your Business This session provides the student with information and concepts necessary to create a marketing plan for his or her business venture. Through this process, students will answer such questions as: Who are your target buyers What sources of uniqueness or positioning in the market do you have Where will you spend your marketing dollars How much sales, spending and profits will be achieved Session 4 Developing Great Customer Relations Successful businesses today must determine their customers' requirements, expectations and preferences and develop relationships that lead to customer loyalty and satisfaction.
