This course introduces the theory of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), with specific emphasis on their applicability to industrial woodworking machines. PLC basic components and functional characteristics, the PLC's connection to the machines, logic devices, ladder diagrams and programming fundamentals, and troubleshooting are covered.
