This course is covers the material in Module 1 (The Purchasing Process) and Module 2 (The Supply Environment) of the Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) Exam and prepares the individual for successfully completing these modules on the exam. Topics covered in Module 1 include: Determining proper purchasing techniques and processes, developing specification criteria and statements of work, preparing solicitation/proposal packages for requirements, awarding contracts and measuring supplier performance. Topics covered in Module 2 include: Negotiation strategies and techniques, inventory methods, resolving quality issues, managing internal client and supplier relationships and team participation. This class can accommodate seasoned professionals or newly appointed purchasing employees wishing to increase their knowledge.
