This hands-on course teaches the student how to maintain, troubleshoot, rebuild and repair industrial pumps and AC motors. Actual tear-down and rebuilding of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps and single-and-three-phase AC motors will be performed by each student. Coupling alignment and the proper methods for removing and installing bearings, mechanical seals, and packing will be taught in detail along with many mechanical maintenance "Tricks of the trade." Safety precautions are stressed thoughout the course.
