This course focuses on basic electrical theory and applied skill sets. Some hands-on laboratory training is provided. Course topics include fundamentals of electricity, conductor, insulator and semiconductor characteristics, single-phase and three-phase voltage systems, magnetism, coils, solenoids, and transformers, electrical wiring practices, conduit types and applications, electrical devices (receptacles and switches), lighting equipment, grounding and Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs), motors and motor control circuits and equipment, motor protection and motor circuit troubleshooting.
