This course helps to prepare the student to take the Memphis/Shelby County First-Class or Third-Class Refrigeration Operating Engineer license exam. Course topics include general air conditioning questions, heat gain, piping, safety, code requirements, and psychrometric chart calculations. Learning will be facilitated through practice on required calculations. Technical manuals required for the license exam will be used to identify the source of required information. Prerequisite: INMT 2124 or equivalent experience. Please note: Individuals who want to take a Memphis/Shelby County licensing exam must apply at the Office of Construction Code Enforcement, 6465 Mullins Station, approximately 60 days in advance of the exam date.
