This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of mechanical ventilation. The focus will be placed on the way mechanical ventilators function, basic terminology, classification, technological and mathematical concepts, graphical displays and the interrelationship between pressure, volume, flow and time as related to mechanical ventilator function. Prerequisite(s): AHS 105; BIO 132; BIO 133; RT 105.
