This course introduces students to applied entomology and plant pathology, and pest management strategies using the principles of integrated pest management (IPM). Common insect and plant disease organisms are identified and discussed. Emphasis is placed on plant health and pest management tactics resulting from systematic, logical, effective and environmentally safe landscape pest control decisions. There is a required field experience. Preparation for the Maine pesticide applicator's license is given.
