This course, which is a writing workshop, will welcome all four of the major literary genres: fiction, poetry, drama, and the personal essay. Most of class time will be spent discussing student manuscripts; the remaining time will consist of lectures on craft, critical discussion of assigned readings, and writing exercises. While a book will be assigned, students' original writing is the primary "text" which will be submitted to the class in regular rotation so that all have equal "air time". Prerequisite: ENG 111.
