This is an introductory soil science course investigating the physical, biological and chemical properties of soils and the horticultural relationships between plants and soil. Areas of study include: soil sampling and testing, organic matter management and composting, water relationships, soil surveys, and soil fertility and plant nutrition based on the selection and use of fertilizers and soil amendments.
