LAB + LEC 3 Credits 4 Periods Introduces photonics, fiber optic theory, and the fundamentals of fiber optic networks. Techniques to connect, splice, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables. Includes fiber optic system components, wave guide transmission, lasers, electro-optics, and fiber optic sensors. Prerequisites: None. TLT101 suggested but not required for students with no prior telecommunications experience.
