Because listening is important in our personal as well as professional relationships, students find this course particularly interesting and relevant. In this course, students will examine the effects of listening style on personal relationships and public interactions. We will examine both theoretical and applied perspectives. However, the emphasis will be on skill application. Through exercises and assignments, students will also have an opportunity to assess their own listening strengths and weaknesses with opportunities to improve proficiency. 3 lecture hrs/wk.
