This course is designed to give students a good working knowledge of health care reimbursement for medical offices and clinics, i.e. non-hospital settings. Students will code diagnoses and procedures using the ICD, CPT, and HCPCS manuals. Topics of study include the CMS 1500 and the rules and regulations governing Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation, BlueCross/ BlueShield, Managed Care programs and other medical insurance programs.
