This class includes detailed analysis of weather reports and forecasts and application of weather information to VFR and IFR flight planning and decision-making. Atmospheric circulation systems, airmass charateristics, and large scale weather patterns are related to instrument and commercial flight operations. Weather hazards, including wind shear, thunderstorms, turbulence, icing and instrument meteorological conditions will be discussed with emphasis on flight safety. 4 lecture hrs/wk.
