A course designed to teach students the principles of automotive brakes. Basic concepts and terminology, fundamental principles, diagnosis and overhaul techniques are an integral part of this course. Special emphasis is placed on the study, diagnosis and repair of braking systems found on late model, domestic and import vehicles. The student should acquire knowledge of brake and trouble-shooting procedures for both disc and drum brakes, as well as overhaul and rebuilding of all brake components. 26 lecture/78 lab hrs.
