This course is a continuation of MATH 1100 Numbers and Operations for Elementary School Teachers and is for prospective elementary school teachers. Its primary focus is on the process of solving various problems through the use of algebra, the Fundamental Counting Principle, probability, and data analysis, and to prepare students to be competent in teaching these major concepts. Emphasis continues to be placed on the development of problem solving skills and teaching in the context of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards.
