Description:
Students will review the use of equipment and setup as well as electrodes and electrode selection in a variety of welding processes. Course training will utilize the American Welding Society (AWS) standards of acceptability to develop the manual skills necessary to produce good quality single and multiple pass welds in all positions using a variety of filler metals and larger diameter electrodes commonly used in industry to the structural steel welding code. Joints welded will simulate butt-beam to beam, beam to column splicing, and heavy equipment welding. (2 lect/lab hrs/week)
