This course uses a family centered approach to introduce the student to the concepts of ante partum nursing, principles of labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn nursing care. In addition, this course provides the student with an opportunity to identify the physiological and psychological responses of children and families to illness. Nursing care concepts and the application of the nursing process are reflected in home, hospital and community settings. (3 C: 3 lect/pres, 0 lab, 0 other)
