Meets MN Transfer Goal 3 - Natural Sciences. This is an introductory meteorology course designed for non-science majors. This course focuses on understanding the basic concepts of meteorology by emphasizing observations of the atmosphere and using those observations to explain atmospheric phenomena. This course emphasizes key atmospheric concepts that enable students to understand how science can explain the weather phenomena they see in their daily lives and how these phenomena are connected to short term events such as local weather, severe storms and atmospheric stability and long term effects such as global warming. This course includes a lab component where students will learn to use real data to analyze and predict weather patterns and atmospheric phenomena. Prerequisite(s): READ0304, ENGL0304 or Appropriate Accuplacer Score. (4 C: 3 lect/pres, 1 lab, 0 other)
