This course is designed to provide fundamental knowledge of embryonic development of the face and oral cavity, oral histology and development of the hard and soft tissues, and terminology related to the oral cavity and teeth. The student will be introduced to the structures and functions of the head and neck as it relates to the oral cavity and dentistry. Characteristics supporting structures are studied. An introduction to basic body systems will also be covered. Prerequisite(s): READ0304 or Appropriate Accuplacer Score. (3 C: 3 lect/pres, 0 lab, 0 other)
