The purpose of the family law course is to give legal assistants a better understanding of domestic relations law and to show students how those laws governing family situations are applied. The content of the course includes formation of the marital relationship, dissolution, child custody and support, adoption, abortion, paternity, domestic violence, child neglect, and surrogacy.
