Students will learn the most commonly used commands and techniques for obtaining consistent, predictable, high quality images using a leading image editing software application. Using the creative tools of the software, students learn how to select pixels in images, use layers, color correct images and to apply layer styles and filters to create special effects. Students will learn how to use vector paths for a variety of purposes, including masking and clipping paths. In addition, students will learn basic scanning techniques and how to create and save images in formats for press, print and Web use. (3 C: 1 lect/pres, 2 lab, 0 other)
