This course will enable the dental assisting student to function effectively as part of the dental health team in medical and dental emergency situations. Evaluating and understanding medical conditions, symptoms, and treatments will be an integral part of this course. The student will be familiar with the fundamentals of pharmacology and the drugs used in dentistry and their effects and interactions. Prerequisite(s): READ0304 or Appropriate Accuplacer Score.
