A study of clutches and reduction gear systems used in powered chain saws is offered in this course. It includes types of chains, types of guide bars, lubrication, repair, sharpening and care of chains. Students disassemble and rebuild components using the manufacturer ? specifications and appropriate equipment. Safety equipment is emphasized. 4 lecture hours, 6 lab hours. (6 credit hours/special course fee)
