Credit Hours: 050 Introduction to fundamentals of cardiopulmonary resusciation (CPR) and first aid treatment Includes accessing 911 and other emergency numbers, primary survey of a patient, respiratory, cardiac, diabetic, environmental and behavioral and emergencies, allergies, poisoning, obstetrics, and bleeding and shock Also includes soft tissue injuries, musculoskeletal care, head and spine injuries, common medical conditions in children, CPR and the chain of survival, recognizing life threatening emergencies, controllabe risk factors for heart attack and stroke, assessment and skills steps of CPR, and the human dimension of CPR Prerequisite(s): Course Corequisites:
