Credit Hours: 150 Introduction to mine safety training as required for individuals that perform work at a mine site Includes introduction and evaluation, hazard communication, material safety data sheets (MSDSs), lockout/tagout (LOTO), personal protective equipment (PPE), ground control in mining, transportation and communication, explosives, accident prevention and accessing 911 and other emergency numbers Also includes primary survey of a patient, respiratory, cardiac and diabetic emergencies, allergies, poisoning, environmental and behavioral emergencies, obstetrics, bleeding and shock, and soft issue injuries Also includes musculoskeletal care, injuries to the head and spine, common medical conditions in children, cardiopulmonary resusciation (CPR) American Heart Association chain of survival, how to recognize life threatening emergencies, major controllable risk factors for heart attack and stroke, assessment and skills steps for CPR the human dimension of CPR, and site specific training Prerequisite(s): Course Corequisites:
