Focuses on the care of individuals/families requiring medical or surgical treatment. Uses all components of the nursing process with increasing degrees of skill. Content includes: Math computational skills, basic computer instruction related to the delivery of nursing care; neurological, renal, burn disorders and clients experiencing shock. Provides supervised learning experiences in College nursing laboratories and/or cooperating agencies. Lecture 4 hours. Laboratory 12 hours. Total 16 hours per week for seven weeks. Prerequisites: NUR 112, NUR 230, and BIO 142.
