Emphasizes strategies within the writing process to help students with specific writing situations. Develops techniques to improve clarity of writing and further raise proficiency toward the level necessary for entrance into particular curricula. Promotes organization, perseverance, and adaptability through the keeping of a notebook, daily writing, the meeting of set and flexible due dates, and satisfactory completion of multiple projects. Includes reading. Helps students learn to use conventions of written American English. Credits not applicable toward graduation. Prerequisite: ENG 1, COMPASS 36, ASSET 34.
