6 class hrs/wk, 6 cr. each Introduces the Spanish language (including listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and Hispanic culture (including geography, customs, daily life, heritage, and literature), facilitated by the study of vocabulary, grammar, short readings, and guided conversation. This two-quarter sequence is equivalent to the three quarters of SPN 101, 102, 103. Instructor and students use Spanish as the primary language of the class. Prerequisite: SPN 150: None. It is recommended that the student have had some experience studying a foreign language; SPN 151: SPN 150, one year of high school Spanish, or consent of instructor.
