4 class hrs/wk, 4 cr. each Introduces the Spanish language (including listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and Hispanic culture (including geography, customs, daily life, heritage, and literature), facilitated by the study of vocabulary, grammar, short readings, and guided conversation. Instructor and students use Spanish as the primary language of the class. Prerequisite: These classes are to be taken sequentially. SPN 101: None; SPN 102: SPN 101, one year of high school Spanish, or consent of instructor; SPN 103: SPN 102, two years of high school Spanish, or consent of instructor.
