3 class hrs/wk, 3 cr. each Covers Spanish for beginners whose primary goal is basic communication in the language and an understanding of Hispanic culture. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are developed with an emphasis on conversation, facilitated by the study of vocabulary and structure. Instructor and students use Spanish as the primary language of the class. Prerequisite: These classes are to be taken sequentially. SPN 111: None; SPN 112: SPN 111 or consent of instructor; SPN 113: SPN 112 or consent of instructor.
