5 class hours, 12 lab/clinical hours Emphasis is placed on a holistic approach to providing nursing care to an individual throughout the life span experiencing common, well-defined health problems. Through the use of the nursing process as the mechanism for the delivery of nursing care, emphasis is given to the restoration maintenance of an individual's biopsychosocial needs. Clinical learning experiences occur in structured health care settings and are correlated with classroom instruction. Prerequisites: NUR 119, NUR 124. Corequisites: BIO 218, PSY 207 For LPNs, this prerequisite must have been successfully completed within three years prior to acceptance into NUR 226.
