class hours ( 1 week) Designed for LPNs who are entering the nursing program for semester three. The course focuses on the role change of the licensed practical nurse to that of an associate degree nurse. The role of the AD nurse as a member within the discipline of nursing, provider of care and manager of care is emphasized. The nursing process is utilized as a method to assist the learner to meet the basic, biopsychosocial needs of individuals throughout the life span. Prerequisites: State of Maine LPN licensure, one or more years work experience as practical nurse.
