Familiarization with personal computer operating system software and an introductory study of computer programming. This course first covers the usage of the fundamental operating system commands to perform file management, and then introduces a programming language to acquaint the student with the program development environment and programming concepts such as statement syntax and execution, data types, decision making, I/O, functions, looping, arrays, and subroutines. Students will write, compile, test, and debug programs.
