(Non-Calculus) (Formerly MATH 1510) 3 Credits, 3 Class Hours An introduction to basic concepts and formulas for both descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include the nature of data, uses and abuses of statistics, methods of sampling, summarizing data, pictures of data, counting techniques, measures of central tendency, measures of variation, measures of position, understanding probability, binomial and normal distributions, central limit theorem, confidence intervals, fundamentals of hypothesis testing for both one and two samples, ANOVA, linear regression, and a brief introduction to nonparametric statistics. Prerequisite: DSPM 0850 This course is part of the general education core.
