4 Credits, 2 Class Hours, 4 Lab Hours An introductory course in land surveying. Emphasis is on the basics of field and office work. Topics include errors and accuracy, bearings, azimuths, leveling, coordinate geometry, traverses, topographic mapping, area, volume, construction surveys, radial surveys and introduction to use of data collectors. Laboratory exercises explore the use of the steel tape, automatic level, transit, theodolite, and electronic distance measuring devices. Prerequisite: MATH 1730
