4 Credits, 1 Class Hours, 6 Lab Hours An introductory course in the basics of light construction systems with an emphasis on construction elements, sizes, weights, spacing, function and construction documents. Topics include footings and foundations, material weights, structural elements, platform and balloon frame construction, drilling and notching, stairway design, chimney foundations, lettering sizes, architectural symbols, and dimensioning systems. The student will develop preliminary drawings, prepare construction drawings on AutoCAD and build a study model for a small residence. Prerequisites: CAD 1200
