Topics include semiconductor devices with emphasis on the junction diode, the bipolar transistor, and the field effect transistor; electro-mechanical devices, specifically the operation and fault diagnosis and repair of self-rectifying D.C. generators; cranking motors; mechanical and electrical testing equipment used to diagnose malfunctions of the ignition systems and to determine the general condition of the engine for GM vehicles.
