3 sem hrs cr This course is organized into two main sections: characteristics of financial statements and financial statement analysis. The first section serves as a useful review of basic accounting principles for those students who have studied accounting. For those who have not, this section provides the minimum accounting background necessary for profitable study of financial statement analysis. The second section of the course covers goals, methods, and tools of analysis; analysis of profit and loss, accounts receivable, inventories, and balance sheets; the relationship of balance sheet accounts to sales; and projected statements and cash budgets.
