3 hours credit This course will provide but not be limited to providing the student with the experience of reviewing a variety of common disorders encountered in an addiction treatment center. Observing and learning the importance of application of psychological principles in mental health centers. An enhancement of student understanding of mental disorders and extend the students understanding of Co-occurring conditions in the treatment of substance related disorders. Prerequisites: Social Psychology, PSYC-0214 and consent of the instructor; OR Counseling the Alcoholic and Drug Abuser II, ADCN- 0206 and consent of the instructor.
