1-3 hours credit A continuation of Introduction to Social Work, SOSC-0210 and Introduction to Social Welfare, SOSC-0212. This course is available in 1, 2, or 3 credit hour versions. This course provides 30 to 90 hours of actual contact with the profession of Social Work through projects with agencies in the community and provides opportunities for students to observe Social Workers in the field. This course is an exposure course and is not a field practicum. Generally the minimum required credit hours for this course are two. The course may be taken for up to three credit hours in various combinations. Students are urged to check with their prospective college or university for exact requirements. Prerequisite: SOSC-0210, Introduction to Social Work or SOSC-0212, Introduction to Social Welfare may be taken concurrently. The student should have a basic knowledge of APA writing format.
